Samuel and Carissa have been married for over 10 years and share deep appreciation for justice work. As an interracial couples with social work and sociology backgrounds, they have experiences they draw on both personally and academically that sheds unique view of reconciliation.
Dr. Samuel Saforo-Kwapong
Co-Founder (CEO)
Dr. Samuel Saforo-Kwapong has been involved in higher education and international education for almost 2 decades. Dr. Saforo-Kwapong’s purpose in life is to lead and assist college students to find purpose in their life. He does this by creating trust among students and developing them to be effective leaders. His vision is to assist them in realizing their potential so they can become culturally competent in a society that is constantly evolving.
His background is in international education, intercultural competence training, leadership development, and racial reconciliation. He is a strong leader and developer of leaders and a certified leadership trainer from the Ken Blanchard Leadership Institute in Poway, CA. He has conducted many training and seminars on intercultural competence, international student services, racial reconciliation, and leadership development. His doctoral research topic focused on finding the intercultural competency of both domestic and international students after they have participated in a peer mentoring program. He is a certified Qualified Administrator with IDI LLC, a certified Life Coach and an award-winning researcher.
He has many interests outside the classroom and work. He is an avid reader, something his parents instilled in him growing up. He loves spending quality time with his wife and two amazing kids.

With a degree in sociology, Carissa has always been interested in the dynamics that makes up society. Her passion to see justice prevail in our world have led her to explore and development her ability to walk alongside young people in need. She has an uncanny ability to get people to open up and share about their life. Using her own life stories, she can lead great and deep dialogue on racial reconciliation, leadership development and personal growth mindset.
